Home/Estate Cleanout FAQ

Estate Cleanout FAQ

Straight answers about preparation, access, estimates, accepted material, and cleanout decisions.

Before the walkthrough

Do we have to finish sorting?

No. Create a secure keep zone and mark anything undecided. The removal scope should include only approved items.

Can photos replace a walkthrough?

Photos can help, but larger or mixed jobs may need an on-site review.

Should appliances be disconnected?

Yes. Gas, plumbing, and hard-wired electrical disconnection should be handled appropriately before removal.

During the cleanout

How are prices determined?

Common factors include volume, material type, labor, stairs, disassembly, carry distance, and disposal requirements.

What items need separate handling?

Chemicals, fuel, batteries, pressurized cylinders, biological waste, asbestos, live utilities, and unknown material require advance review.

Will usable items be donated?

No donation outcome is guaranteed. Item condition, local acceptance rules, timing, and available destinations all matter.
