Separate sold and reserved items from the leftovers, then walk every display and storage area before removal begins.

Set a clear sale cutoff

Choose when buyer pickups end and the cleanout scope begins. If pickups must continue, move reserved items into one closed, labeled area.

Collect sale materials and valuables

Remove cash boxes, receipts, price tags, signs, display equipment, keys, records, jewelry, and other items held by the sale operator or family.

Review hidden storage

Check drawers, cabinets, closets, attics, garages, basements, sheds, and furniture compartments. A nearly empty room can still contain reserved property.

Walk the written stay list

Before loading, compare each room with the list of fixtures, buyer pickups, family items, and property materials that must remain. Repeat the check when the work is complete.
